Illusion without Illusion (2022–2023)

In my practice, painting functions as a reversible and continuously unfolding process, mirroring the shifting inner states that accompany life’s irreversible movement. The work grows through cycles of layering, removal and reconfiguration, allowing perception to deepen through repetition and attentive looking.

Paper pulp, made from torn and dissolved pages, becomes a material ground that holds both dissolution and renewal. Once carrying fixed meaning, the paper softens into texture and residue, merging with colour and gesture. Accidental formations and intentional marks interact, creating surfaces shaped by intuition, uncertainty and the gradual acceptance of change.
